"Roses for Goya"
I love Goya's art nevertheless most of his art is about violents and death (Yes I know his painting The Flower Girls
(Las Floreras))!!! I still wondered if he be happy with another artist using flowers as a form of tribute to him!!! I love "Bachus' tree" (Any art about Dionysus (the female like man) the Greek God of drinking) I was Dionysus for a play in my Classical Studies class!!!

The title of that painting is "Roses FOR Goya", not "Goya's Roses" - so it's irrelevent whether Goya would be happy or not with another artist using flowers as a motif (in fact any artist should be happy if there were still people paying tribute to them after their death). Bit more attention to the grammatical structure of the subject might help the understanding of a painting, if one chooses to appreciate something as beautiful as Margriet Smulders's works with play of words or "studies" that they've done before, instead of simply with their heart. LOL.

Michiko,
These are stunning - I completely thought they were paintings at first glance. What colors! I'm certain these would be amazing to see in person.
Cheers,
Tara
