Thank you Gabbi! A match made in heaven indeed. Those two artists have lots in common. Like their strict, classicistic approach to their works. Degas is often mistakenly regarded as one of the impressionists, just like Ravel's music is often mistakenly considered similar to Debussy's (especially in japan), Degas was obsessed with drawing dancers(ballerinas), Ravel was fascinated by dance rhythms etc.etc. wish my English was good enough to explain all those in details!
Thank you for sharing your brilliant images again! They are as beautiful, as you! I love Degas sketches best..I like to see the underpinnings! As to the Impressionists categorizing, I have actually SEEN Degas listed amongst them! But not with art historians who KNOW better! You take me back to school days with your enthusiasm and knowledge! I'm SO impressed! XO Fi
